A Shopify website design and build for Chilli Bird, the UK chilli oil brand. Using the brand identity I created as the foundation, I designed and built a custom theme to modernise the existing site and give it a home worthy of the product.
After completing the brand refresh for Chilli Bird, the natural next step was getting that identity somewhere it could actually live. Jen came to me to modernise the existing site and bring it fully in line with the new brand direction. The brief was clear: cleaner, more confident, and built to grow with the business.
I started in Figma, working directly from the brand assets I'd created. The typeface, palette, and visual language all fed straight into the UI, so the site never feels like an afterthought to the brand. It feels like an extension of it. We worked through revision rounds together before anything went near a browser.
The build is a custom Shopify theme, designed around the way Chilli Bird's customers actually use the site. Product pages are considered and easy to navigate, giving the oils the space they deserve. For wholesale and retail enquiries, there's a dedicated stockists page complete with a full-page map, making it simple for new stockists to find their nearest location or get in touch.
The result is a site that does the brand justice and gives Chilli Bird a proper platform to build from.
And this is just the start. The site will continue to evolve as the brand does. A recipes section focused on Thai cooking is in development, followed by label redesigns and merch. It's an ongoing partnership and there's plenty more to come.
